Claverdon Neighbourhood Plan has now been 'made'

Stratford-on-Avon District Council resolved that the Claverdon Neighbourhood Development Plan was 'made' on 16 December 2019. It is now formally part of the District Council's development plan and will be used to assist in making decisions on planning applications within the plan area.

'Yes' vote at referendum

On Thursday 24 October, voters in Claverdon voted ‘yes' to the Neighbourhood Plan.

• 84.01% ( 268 people) of those voting said ‘Yes'
• 15.67% (50 people) of those voting said ‘No'
• The turnout was 30.67%

The Plan now has significant weight in the decision-making process. The intention is for the Plan to be presented to full Council on 16 December 2019 to be formally 'Made'.

Plan to proceed to referendum

The Claverdon Neighbourhood Plan was independently examined between March and May of 2019. The District Council received the Examiner's report on 17 May. The Examiner's report recommends that, subject to some proposed modifications, the plan should proceed to referendum. The District Council agreed with the Examiner's report and endorsed the Plan to proceed to a referendum.

The independent examiner for the Claverdon Neighbourhood Plan requested clarification from Claverdon Parish Council and Stratford-on-Avon District Council on a number of matters following a preliminary review of the document and its evidence base. Independent Examination

Following completion of the Regulation 16 (Formal Submission) consultation in March this year, the Claverdon Neighbourhood Plan was sent for examination by an independent examiner. The Examiner's letter confirming how he intended to conduct the Examination is attached. Formal Submission consultation

In accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended), we held a consultation on the policies proposed in the Submission version of the Plan. The consultation ran from Thursday 31 January 2019 until 5pm on Friday 15 March 2019.

Pre-Submission Draft consultation

The Pre-Submission Draft of the Claverdon Neighbourhood Plan was published for a six week period of consultation between 25 January 2018 and 19 March 2018 in accordance with Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).

Neighbourhood Area designation

The Claverdon Neighbourhood Plan Area was designated by Cabinet on 16 June 2014. Claverdon Parish Council was the relevant body that applied to the District Council for designation. The area application documents can be found below:
