South Warwickshire Local Plan Consultation

The Regulation 19 Consultation for the South Warwickshire Local Plan is now open and runs until 11.59pm on Tuesday 8 September 2026.

The Local Plan will help shape future housing, employment, infrastructure and growth across South Warwickshire.

Help us keep Fisherman’s Car Park safe

With the increased risk of fire in current conditions, we have taken the precautionary step of temporarily banning the use of BBQs, campfires, and other open flames at Fisherman’s Car Park.

Important Changes to the Housing Register

Home Choice Plus will close to new Housing Register applications on 17 August 2026 as part of the transition to Stratford-on-Avon Home Choice.

Stratford-on-Avon Home Choice will open for applications on 15 September 2026. This will include a re-registration period for existing Housing Register applicants, as well as applications from new applicants.

The first properties will be advertised through the new scheme from 27 October 2026.

Local Government Reorganisation: Government decision

The Government has confirmed plans for the future of local councils in Warwickshire.

From 1 April 2028, the county’s current six Borough, District and County Councils will be replaced with two unitary councils: one covering North Warwickshire and one covering South Warwickshire.

Stratford-on-Avon District Council's 2026 health screening programme

Tests are available across the District at a discounted rate of £14 each and include:

• PSA (Prostate Screening) for men over 40
• Diabetes screening for men and women aged 18+
• Cholesterol checks for men and women aged 18+

Garden waste subscriptions are open for the 2026-27 period, ending 31st March 2027.
