Tysoe Neighbourhood Plan has now been 'made'
Stratford-on-Avon District Council resolved that the Tysoe Neighbourhood Plan was 'made' on 21 Feb 2022. It is now formally part of the District Council's development plan and will be used to assist in making decisions on planning applications within the area.
'Yes' vote at Referendum
On Thursday 20 January 2022, voters in Tysoe voted ‘yes' to the Neighbourhood Plan.
- 92.2% (404 people) of those voting said ‘Yes'
- 7.5% (33 people) of those voting said ‘No'
- One spoilt ballot paper
- The turnout was 46%
Plan to Proceed to Referendum
The Tysoe Neighbourhood Plan was independently examined between February and April 2021 and the Examiner recommended that, subject to a small number of proposed modifications, the Plan should proceed to referendum. In one instance, the Local Planning Authority disagreed with a decision recommended by the Examiner. In accordance with Regulation 17A of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) and Development Management Procedure (Amendment) Regulations 2016, the Local Planning Authority publicised the proposed amendments to the recommended modification for a minimum 6 week consultation between 16 September and 29 October 2021.
The District Council endorsed the Plan to proceed to a referendum held on Thursday 20 January 2022.

Outcome of Regulation 17A Consultation and Decision for Plan to Proceed to Referendum
The District Council issued a Decision Statement on the Tysoe Neighbourhood Plan, and the Portfolio Holder for Place and Economy at the District Council endorsed the recommendation for the Plan to proceed to referendum.
In the majority of instances, the Council accepted the Examiner's recommended modifications on the Tysoe Neighbourhood Plan following the first Reg.17A consultation. In one instance, the Local Planning Authority disagreed with a decision recommended by the Examiner.
In accordance with Regulation 17A of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) and Development Management Procedure (Amendment) Regulations 2016, the Local Planning Authority publicised the proposed amendments to the Examiner's recommended modification for a minimum 6 week consultation between 16 September and 29 October 2021.

Reg.17A consultation on proposed amendments to the Independent Examiner's recommended modifications (2021)
Following receipt of the report of the Independent Examiner on the Reg.17A version Tysoe Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) from 2020, the Local Planning Authority decided what action to take in response to each of the recommended modifications set out in the report.
In respect of Natural Environment Policy 6, the decision of the Local Planning Authority differed from that recommended by the Examiner. Therefore, in accordance with Regulation 17A of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) and Development Management Procedure (Amendment) Regulations 2016, the Local Planning Authority publicised the proposed amendments to the recommended modifications for a minimum 6 week period, inviting the submission of representations from organisations and individuals on the changes.

Re-examination following Reg.17A consultation
The District Council appointed the original Independent Examiner of the Tysoe NDP to re-examine the Plan following completion of the Regulation 17A consultation. The examination took place between February and April 2021, with the Examiner's report issued on 4 May 2021.

Pre-submission Draft consultation
The Pre-Submission Draft of the Tysoe Neighbourhood Plan was published for a six week period of consultation between 9 July 2018 and 16 September 2018 in accordance with Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).
