Loxley Neighbourhood Plan has now been 'made'

Stratford-on-Avon District Council resolved that the Loxley Neighbourhood Development Plan was 'made' on 13 July 2020. It is now formally part of the District Council's development plan and will be used to assist in making decisions on planning applications within the plan area.

'Yes' vote at referendum

On Thursday 27 February 2020, voters in Loxley voted ‘yes' to the Neighbourhood Plan.

  • 86.44% (102 people) of those voting said ‘Yes'
  • 13.55% (16 people) of those voting said ‘No'
  • The turnout was 39.46%.

Plan to Proceed to referendum

The Loxley Neighbourhood Plan was independently examined between October and November of 2019. The District Council received the Examiner's report on 13 November 2019. The Examiner's report recommended that, subject to some proposed modifications, the plan should proceed to referendum. The District Council agreed with the Examiner's report and has endorsed the Plan to proceed to a referendum to be held on Thursday 27 February 2020.

The polling station will be at Loxley C of E Community Primary School, Main Street, Loxley, Warwick, CV35 9JT.

The question on the ballot paper will be as follows:

“Do you want Stratford-on-Avon District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Loxley to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"

The independent examiner for the Loxley Neighbourhood Plan has requested clarification from Loxley Parish Council and Stratford-on-Avon District Council on the following matter:

The examiner has invited the Parish Council and District Council to participate in a fact-checking exercise to commence once a draft version of the examination report has been completed.

Examination

Following completion of the Regulation 16 (Formal Submission) consultation in June this year, the Loxley Neighbourhood Plan has now been sent for examination by an independent examiner. The Examiner's letter confirming how he intends to conduct the Examination can be seen below.

Formal Submission consultation

In accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended), Stratford-on-Avon District Council held a consultation on the policies proposed in the Submission version of the Plan. The consultation ran from Thursday 27 June until Friday 9 August 2019.

The Pre-Submission Draft of the Loxley Neighbourhood Plan was published for a six week period of consultation between 24 May 2018 and 5 July 2018 in accordance with Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).

Neighbourhood Area designation

The Loxley Neighbourhood Plan Area was designated on 26 April 2016. Loxley Parish Council was the relevant body that applied to the District Council for designation. The area application documents can be found below:
