What are Supplementary Planning Documents?

Supplementary planning documents (SPDs) build upon and provide additional guidance to help in the interpretation of our Core Strategy policies. They can be based on particular topics or relate to a particular large site.

The Gaydon/Lighthorne Heath Masterplan SPD was adopted in 2016. We are currently preparing three additional SPDs.

Adopted SPDs

SPDs currently under preparation

The intended timetable for the preparation of the remaining SPDs is set out in our Local Development Scheme.

Older supplementary documents, guidance and advice

Older supplementary documents can be found on our planning guidance page. A number of the older design-related planning documents listed will eventually be superseded by relevant sections of the forthcoming Development Requirements SPD but remain relevant in the meantime.
