Plan to proceed to referendum

The Shipston on Stour Neighbourhood Plan was independently examined during November 2017 and February 2018 . Following the examiner's report of 13th February 2018 (see ‘Specified Documents' below). The Cabinet voted on 2 July 2018 to proceed to referendum with the Plan, as amended by the modifications that are set out in the decision statement below.

Referendum details

The question asked in the referendum is as follows:

“Do you want Stratford-on-Avon District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Shipston-on-Stour to help decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"

The referendum is to take place on 6 September 2018. The Neighbourhood Plan and other background documents (referred to as ‘specified documents') are available via the links below.

Formal Submission consultation

Shipston-on-Stour Town Council has formally submitted its Plan to Stratford-on-Avon District Council. The Plan sets out a vision for the future of the town and planning policies to be used to help make decisions on planning applications falling within the neighbourhood area boundary.

In accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended), the next stage is for us to hold a six-week consultation on the policies proposed in the Plan.

Consultation on the Submission Draft of the Shipston-on-Stour Neighbourhood Plan ran from 2 November to 15 December 2017. The consultation has now closed.

Neighbourhood Area designation

The Shipston-on-Stour Neighbourhood Plan Area was designated by the cabinet on 8 April 2013. Shipston-on-Stour Town Council was the relevant body that applied to the District Council for designation. The area application documents can be found below:
