Statement of Community Involvement

What is the Statement of Community Involvement?

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out how we intend to engage with local communities, businesses and other interested parties when developing and reviewing planning documents and determining planning applications.

Draft SCI 2018 Consultation

The consultation closed on Wednesday 24 October 2018.

Stratford-on-Avon District Council is updating its SCI, last published in April 2014. Revision is needed to reflect changes in national planning legislation and a new requirement to set out how the Council will support groups undertaking neighbourhood plans.

The Draft Statement of Community Involvement 2018 sets out how the Council as the Local Planning Authority will engage all stakeholders in the following planning documents and applications:

  • Development Plan Documents;
  • Supplementary Planning Documents;
  • Neighbourhood Plans;
  • Community Infrastructure Levy;
  • Planning Applications; and
  • Permission in Principle.

Consultation responses will be assessed and the document amended to go to Cabinet on 5 December and Council 17 December 2018.
