This privacy notice covers Stratford-on-Avon District Council's processing of your personal data when using our websites. Please note that this notice describes our general processing of your information while using our websites. This does not include specific processing (but does cover general practice) relating to:

  • any My District account you hold - please see our My District privacy notice which specifically covers our processing activity in relation to your account

What information do we collect?

When you use our websites we collect the following personal data:

  • IP address

If you fill out the feedback form which appears on most pages of our site, then you have the option to specifically provide:

  • your email address

How do we use your information?

We automatically collect statistical data about usage patterns on our websites, which can include the user's IP address. This information is collected to provide us with an understanding of the areas of interest on our site. We record IP addresses for statistical, error and diagnostics purposes only. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interests in these purposes. We do not collect any information to enable us to independently identify you from your IP address.

Users have an option on our website to provide views and comments about the website, the council and its services. The information provided by users via this service will be acted upon according to the content of the communication. We may contact users in order to reply to the issues raised. This contact will be via email, unless an alternative is specified. We will produce statistical analysis reports on the comments received.

When our users contact us for support, our technical team may ask for additional personal data. This information is requested in order to expedite the support process or, in extreme cases, to make the resolution of a support request possible in the first place. If you are asked for any personal data during such a process then such provision is entirely optional. However, failure to provide certain information may result in the delay or, in extreme cases, prevention of resolving your support request.

How long do we store your information?

Since we do not collect any information to enable us to independently identify you from your IP address, this will be kept until it is no longer relevant to our statistical analysis and error diagnostics.

Your email address, as a result of providing feedback on the website, will be kept until all issues you have raised (including bug reports and suggested improvements) at the time of providing it have been resolved. At this point the email may be archived if used within our internal ticketing system - in this case you can still request that it be removed at any time.

Do we share your information with anyone else?

We will not share this information or transfer it outside of the European Economic Area or to any international organisation, except to the extent required for the use of Google Analytics which has servers based in the United States (whereby data transfers are compliant with the EU-US Privacy Shield). Please note that Google's partner privacy policy currently specifies that no personally identifiable information may be stored within Google Analytics.

Do we use cookies?
