With 75 Conservation Areas, over 3,000 listed buildings and 86 scheduled ancient monuments, the quality of the district's built heritage is undoubted. Significant parts of the district fall within special landscape areas as well as the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
The Listed Buildings team advises on architectural and design issues as part of the planning process. It maintains records of historic buildings and provides guidance on their repair and maintenance.
