Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Cabinet has agreed to allocate almost £61,000 of its CIL developer contributions to three projects across the District.
These latest three projects to receive CIL funding from the District Council are:
Restoration Phase of the Greig Memorial Hall, Alcester - £50,000
Alcester Town Council has taken on a long lease of the Hall which has been boarded up since 2011 and requires refurbishment to enable it to be reopened as a Community Hall and Events Venue. Following essential work to make the building safe, the CIL monies will be used to replace the windows and doors on the front elevation of the building.
Napton-on-the-Hill Community Electric Vehicle Charging Points - £5,910
This funding will enable the installation of two Electric Vehicle Charging Points at the Village Hall that will be accessible to the community and to visitors. The charging points will be Pay As You Go and useable by the majority of vehicles currently available.
Meon Vale Pavilion Community Project - £5,000
This is a social infrastructure project essential to the large new development in which it sits. It will be located with the Meon Vale Pavilion and will include elements such as a community coffee shop, dementia afternoons, safe space consultation room, training and volunteering opportunities, a food share operation and links in with the local allotments through 'learn to plant' advice and the loan of tools.
Councillor Daren Pemberton, Deputy Leader of Stratford-on-Avon District Council and Portfolio Holder for Place and Economy says: "In this round of CIL allocation we have been able to identify three community projects from across Stratford District demonstrating this Council's intention to maximise the effectiveness of CIL spending for as many residents as possible no matter where they live.
"Importantly, each project brings important benefits relating to both our environment and our resident's health and wellbeing and I welcome the allocation of the Council's CIL funds towards them."
