Residents, businesses and community organisations are being invited to have their say on the revised Alcester Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) 2026.

Following its adoption in July 2021, Alcester Town Council decided in September 2023 to review the Neighbourhood Development Plan to ensure it continues to reflect the needs and aspirations of the local community.

As the designated Qualifying Body, the Town Council has prepared the revised plan with input from residents and local stakeholders and has now submitted it to Stratford-on-Avon District Council.

The revised plan sets out a vision for the future development of the Alcester neighbourhood area and includes planning policies that will be used to help guide decisions on local planning applications.
 
In accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended), Stratford-on-Avon District Council is now undertaking a six-week public consultation on the submitted plan before it proceeds to independent examination.

The consultation begins on Thursday 10 September 2026 and closes at 5pm on Friday 23 October 2026.

Paper copies are also available to view during normal opening hours at:

Neighbourhood planning gives local communities a greater role in shaping future development in their area. Once adopted, neighbourhood plans form part of the statutory development plan and are used alongside local and national planning policies when determining planning applications.
