Community groups and charities will be setting up stalls as part of a seasonal spectacular which is returning to Stratford-upon-Avon.

The town will be welcoming back its hugely popular Victorian Christmas Market on December 6, 7 and 8 and this year there will be a new addition.

A Victorian Christmas Community Fair is set to take place on Saturday, December 7 and will be situated in the Town Hall.

The brainchild of Town Councillors, the fair will run between 10am and 4pm and will compliment everything that is happening around the town centre.

A whole host of stalls will be set up for the day and it will give visitors a chance to show their support for local good causes.

Organisations that will be involved in the community fair and will be setting up stalls include Stratford Foodbank, Young Enterprise, Stratford on Avon School, WRAP, Acorns Children's Hospice and more.

The Mayor, Councillor Kate Rolfe said: "We wanted to give visitors a festive extra during the weekend and we came up with the idea of the Victorian Christmas Community Fair as the perfect way to do something and help good causes at the same time. There will be a whole host of groups coming along and we will make sure that the Victorian theme continues throughout.

"Everyone is welcome to drop into the Town Hall and we look forward to seeing visitors throughout the day."

There will be around 300 stalls filling the streets of Stratford-upon-Avon for this year's Victorian Christmas Market, which is organised by Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Stratford-upon-Avon Town Council and LSD Promotions.

Entertainment will be hosted throughout the town, and there will be a stage in Henley Street hosting an array of performances for all the family to enjoy.

A traditional funfair, which will include a carousel, will be situated at the bottom of Wood Street and on the Rother Street market area.

The Christmas market will be located on Waterside, Bridge Street, Henley Street, High Street and Meer Street, and there will be an abundance of stalls selling street food and drinks positioned on Wood Street.

The market will be open between 11am and 8pm on Friday, December 6, 10am until 8pm on Saturday, December 7 and 10am until 5pm on Sunday, December 8.
