Stratford-on-Avon District Council receives employee wellbeing award

Stratford-on-Avon District Council has received a Thrive at Work Wellbeing Award - the quality mark for investing in employee's health and wellbeing.

The awards, created by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), aim to support employers across the West Midlands create a workplace that promotes health and wellbeing.  It focuses on key organisational areas like health and safety, manager training, as well as mental, musculoskeletal and physical health and promoting healthy lifestyles.

There are three levels at which an organisation can achieve accreditation - Bronze, Silver and Gold.  The Council's Bronze accreditation recognises achievements in implementing effective policies and procedures, good line management and board level engagement.

David Buckland Chief Executive of Stratford District Council said: "I am incredibly proud that the Council has achieved this award, especially under the very difficult circumstances over the last 16 months.  Looking after our employees' health and wellbeing, particularly during the pandemic, is of paramount importance."

Cllr Tony Jefferson, Leader of Stratford District Council said: "We know that the health and wellbeing of our people is important. It's not just a nice thing to do but it has real benefits in improving the way we operate which enables us to maintain the high quality services residents and businesses expect from us."
