Stratford-upon-Avon Markets to reopen next week 

Stratford-upon-Avon's celebrated outdoor markets located on Rother Street in the heart of the town centre, will reopen next week on Friday 19 June and Saturday 20 June. This eminent historical market is renowned for its urban mix of finest quality traders and great service.

Sunday 21 June will also see the return of Stratford's highly popular Sunday market, situated on Waterside, which is its summer home alongside the river Avon. Known locally as The Upmarket because of the quality of the stalls, this market is one of the finest in the United Kingdom today and has been sorely missed.

LSD Promotions the market provider, has worked hard to establish COVID-19 secure marketplaces with plenty of signage for guidance, hand sanitising stations and socially distanced stalls. The size of both markets will be reduced slightly in stall numbers to make room for adequate social distancing, but the distinct atmosphere will remain unaffected and all traders have adapted their businesses to comply with the new COVID-19 safety measures and regulations.

LSD Promotions operates both markets on behalf of Stratford-upon-Avon Town Council and Stratford-on-Avon District Council and market Director Linda McGillicuddy said: "The demand from local people for the town's markets to return has been huge and traders are very excited and looking forward to being back in Stratford, many of whom consider it their second home.

"The Markets-upon-Avon brand is a huge attraction for the area, providing a vibrant community marketplace as well as outlets for multiple micro businesses and start-ups.  The return of outdoor markets is a welcome step forward, we have something to suit all tastes and styles, outside in the fresh air, presented with the utmost care and safety."

Cllr Ian Shenton, Operations Portfolio at Stratford District Council said: "The reopening of our popular weekly markets is an important step as we move towards the recovery of our local economy. We hope that people will come along and support local traders, whilst respecting stall-holders and other visitors and taking care to maintain social distance."

The markets are open in Stratford-upon-Avon every Friday through to Sunday from 9am until 5pm.
