An informal hearing starts next week on Wednesday 25 June 2014, following an appeal by Banner Homes (Midlands) Limited against the development of land south of Campden Road and west of Oldbutt Road, Shipston-on-Stour.
The informal hearing relates to an outline application for up to 70 dwellings and public open space, landscaping and all associated works, refused by the District Council under planning application 13/02571/OUT.
Stratford-on-Avon District Council has refused the application on the following grounds:
- The proposed development would result in significant and demonstrable harm in terms of its impact on the landscape character and the visual amenity of the area.
- The proposal for up to 70 dwellings would result in an overdevelopment of the site and as such any subsequent reserved matters application based on the submitted concept plan would be out of keeping with the adjoining residential development which includes Oldbutt Road.
The informal hearing is expected to last for 2 days, and will be held at the Council Offices, Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon starting at 10am. A Government Planning Inspector will preside over the inquiry.
Members of the public may attend the informal hearing and express their view – at the discretion of the inspector.
