Arrow and Arden Nordic Walking in Alcester is throwing open its doors to provide free activities for everyone as part of National Fitness Day 2018 - the most active day of the year.

National Fitness Day, on Wednesday 26 September, sees the nation celebrate the fun and thrills of physical activity. Throughout the UK, more than 20,000 free events will take place in gyms, leisure centres, parks, high streets, schools, universities and workplaces as over five million people lace up their trainers and embrace being active for the day.

At Arrow and Arden Nordic Walking, members and non-members alike will be able to take part in Nordic Walking Tasters and Nordic Adventure Walks for free.

Kathrin Foster, owner and instructor at Arrow and Arden Nordic Walking, says: "I am very happy to get involved in National Fitness Day and get residents in and around Alcester moving by providing free activities. All my events can be booked at www.arrowandarden.co.uk."

Steven Ward, CEO of National Fitness Day organiser ukactive, says: "National Fitness Day is a fantastic chance to spotlight physical activity and the role it plays in creating a healthier nation - last year we got five million people moving and this year we want to go even bigger - giving everyone the chance to experience the fun of fitness. The day also offers a fantastic opportunity for the physical activity sector to unlock new markets and attract new members by promoting the broad benefits of movement to the length and breadth of the British nation."

This year's event will be the most wide-ranging ever - alongside the myriad activities being provided in fitness facilities across the UK, partners AXA PPP healthcare will be taking National Fitness Day into workplaces with their 'Flying Start' campaign.

You can get involved online by joining in with a social media campaign, exploring what fitness means to you, with the hashtag #Fitness2Me across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
