Search for grounds maintenance schedule

As the local highway authority, highway verges are the responsibility of Warwickshire County Council. Grass verge cutting is carried out primarily to ensure that vegetation does not restrict sight lines and visibility for users of the public highway.

Warwickshire County Council carries out mowing to maintain visibility by cutting an area one metre wide (plus additional areas at junctions and on bends) three times a year on highway verges outside of towns and villages.

Stratford-on-Avon District Council is funded by Warwickshire County Council to carry out grass verge cutting on its behalf within towns and villages. Our grounds maintenance contractor, Krinkels UK Limited (formerly Continental Landscapes Limited), carries out this service.

No Mow May

In 2025, Stratford-on-Avon District Council will again be participating in No Mow May, an important environmental initiative that aims to help reduce the global decline in pollinating insects. Read more on how “No Mow May" affects grass cutting schedules.
