Energy in Buildings: retrofitting works

  • We have switched to 100% renewable electricity for all electricity supply, saving around 400tCO2e.
  • Over the last year, the Council has been successful in attracting substantial grants to help improve carbon emissions in homes. In total SDC has received approx. £5.5m funding for retrofitting housing to provide for energy efficiency and low carbon technology. In addition, through Act on Energy 295 EcoFlex grants have been provided to residents, predominantly for fuel poverty, but many with carbon reduction benefits as well. During August a further substantial bid to the Sustainable Warmth Fund has been submitted.
