- The contract specification for the new waste collection and recycling service and the new street cleaning contract incorporates carbon reduction requirements and includes environmental impacts within the evaluation criteria.
- Currently, most of the household waste collected from grey bins across Stratford-on-Avon District is taken to an Energy from Waste facility in Coventry. These plants are highly efficient and according to Government policy, are a preferable option to the landfilling of waste due to the reduction in environmental impact.
