Councils in Warwickshire, working with the NHS, Police, community and voluntary groups, are supporting the people of Warwickshire through the COVID-19 crisis.

Councils are providing dedicated support to residents the NHS has identified as extremely clinically vulnerable but recognise that others may also need extra help at this time.

Anyone who is vulnerable as a result of COVID-19 and is isolated without access to support from family, friends or neighbours is also encouraged to get in touch to discuss their circumstances and their needs. Help will be offered directly from services or through Warwickshire's fantastic voluntary groups and growing number of volunteers.

People over 70, those with underlying health conditions, suffering COVID-19 symptoms or facing issues related to isolation can call 0800 4081447 or their local council, visit council webpages or for specific help at this time go to www.warwickshire.gov.uk/coronavirusvulnerable.

Monica Fogarty, Chief Executive at Warwickshire County Council said: "We want to reassure people that we are here to help them, especially the most vulnerable. Older people, families, care leavers and other vulnerable groups with no support at this time are encouraged to get in touch with us so we can ensure they are not facing the challenges of COVID-19 alone.

"Our local services can help people directly, provide a range of information and help access emotional, financial and practical support such as our virtual library services. In addition, we can connect people to local networks to make sure they have access to essential supplies and medication. Our offices may be closed but our services remain open, and we are totally committed to supporting our most vulnerable residents through the current situation."

David Buckland, Chief Executive at Stratford-on-Avon District Council says: "One the most significant priorities for the Council during this medical emergency, has been the support to the most vulnerable in our communities, to ensure that they remain safe and well during the outbreak.

"This has been an area of outstanding partnership working across the three tiers of Local Government, with the establishment of the Shielded Hubs, providing food deliveries across the District.

"Further work is still going on to ensure that other vulnerable individuals who need other help are also identified and assisted. We're here to help and we're working hard to support our local community across the whole District."
