Stratford-on-Avon District Council together with Stratford-upon-Avon Town Council and Warwickshire County Council will host an event to raise awareness of dementia and the work being done to make Stratford-upon-Avon a dementia friendly town.
The event takes place on Monday 2 March between 10:30am and 1:30pm at Stratford-upon-Avon Town Hall.
There will be a range of organisations present who support people living with dementia and their carers as well as sessions around unlocking memories and managing changes in behaviour.
Everyone Active, who operate the council's leisure centres across the district, is supporting the event and will be available to talk about its dementia friendly services and offer free health checks. Everyone Active have 25 employees in the area who are trained Dementia Friends, and they are dedicated in creating an inclusive environment so everyone can feel comfortable getting active with them.
There is no need to book and people can drop in at any time but anyone interested in attending one of the information sessions should take note of the session times.
Anyone interested in becoming a dementia friend can also attend a session at 11.30am.
Attendees can enjoy free refreshments and music performed by Orchestra of the Swan musicians.
People will also be encouraged to share their views on how the town could be more Dementia Friendly.
