Flavours from around the world will fill Stratford-upon-Avon as tasty treats are served up during Shakespeare's Birthday Celebrations weekend.

The annual spectacular will be returning to the town once again for all to enjoy on Saturday 27 April and Sunday 28 April.

Stratford-upon-Avon eateries are gearing up for the special event and will be open for business to feed the hungry hordes as the town will be filled with a whole host of attractions and activities.

One of the mouth-watering events that will complement all of the town's restaurants and food outlets is an Artisan Food Court in the Bancroft Basin, which is returning for 2019.

Shakespeare Birthday Celebrations - Food and Market

There will be something to cater for all tastes at the food court from gourmet burgers and sausages to hot pulled pork rolls, vegan sausage rolls and hot vegan sausages, Greek Souvlaki wraps, handmade pizza, mini Dutch pancakes and Persian kebabs.

But that is not all to get the taste buds tingling as there will also be a vintage converted horse box bar with Prosecco and cocktails, a converted Volkswagen van selling hot chocolate and artisan coffees, the little red bus with flavoured slush, amazing chocolate brownies and cakes, bubble waffles, Italian cannoli and a range of local homemade fudge in different flavours to name a few.

The event is being organised by LSD Promotions on behalf of Stratford-upon-Avon Town Council and Stratford-on-Avon District Council.

Dermot McGillicuddy, Director of LSD Promotions, said: "There will certainly be plenty of choice for everyone who comes along to the celebrations and visits the Artisan Food Court.

"We wanted to make sure that we catered for all tastes and I think we have done that with all the traders that are coming. Along with all the businesses we have in Stratford-upon-Avon, there will be plenty of places for the crowds to use during the weekend.

"Not only that, we have the market taking place as well helping to create a wonderful atmosphere.

"What's even better is all of this is very close to the National Living Statues Competition that is taking place during the weekend, so visitors can take a good look around at all the attractions at the same time. We look forward to welcoming everyone along."

Accompanying the food court, which will be open Friday 26 April from noon until late and then all day on the Saturday and Sunday, will be a market for visitors to browse.

There will be a selection of stalls selling handmade jewellery, perfumes, marinades and sauces, farm brewed perry and ciders, take-home curries and samosas.

That is not all, as there will also be artisan-fused glass products, personal rag dolls, home accessories and decorations, pet portraits, garden furniture and much more.
