Stratford-on-Avon District Council published a notice of vacancy on 2 June 2026 for the office of a District Councillor for the Kinwarton, following the resignation of Thom Holmes (Liberal Democrat).

For a by-election to be held to fill the vacancy, a  written request made by two registered local government electors in Stratford-on-Avon District must be given to David Buckland, Proper Officer, Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6HX.

Following receipt of a valid written request, the Returning Officer for the Council will set the date of an election to be held within 35 days of the request (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays).
