Stratford-on-Avon District Council approved its Digital Strategy at the end of 2024. As part of that and following the Residents' Survey 2024, the District Council has been carrying out a full redesign of its website and online services to make it easier for residents, businesses and visitors to find information and complete tasks quickly and confidently. The work has been shaped by a wide range of insight, including Residents' Survey feedback, Google Analytics data, workshops, and several rounds of reviews and amendments. This approach means the new design is based on real user behaviour and the way people interact with our services.
What's changing?
The new website introduces:
- Simpler navigation and clearer pathways to the most commonly used services
- Improved accessibility, including better contrast and layout
- A more modern, mobile-friendly design to support the increasing number of residents who access the site on phones and tablets
- A more intuitive structure that reduces the number of steps needed to complete key tasks
- A refreshed Newsroom with clearer updates and more dynamic content
This is more than a visual update, it is a complete rethink of how residents access information online.
The new design has gone live today, Tuesday 3 March. This means residents will begin using the new site while we continue to monitor performance and gather real-world feedback. A feedback mechanism will be available on the website for several weeks, allowing residents to share comments on what is working well and where further improvements may be helpful.
Website address
The website address remains the same: www.stratford.gov.uk
Residents will automatically see the refreshed design from 3 March.
