Free Trees for Town and Parish Councils

The Free Trees for Town and Parish Councils Scheme is a brand-new initiative from Stratford District Council, which has been set up to give local councils the opportunity access funding to plant trees on their land. Applicants will be able to choose what trees they wish to purchase, as long as they are a species that is native to the UK. Applicants can apply for any amount of trees, up to a maximum total value of £10,000. Any additional amount would need to be match funded from other sources.

Of the £50,000 budget that was initially allocated to the scheme, £34,383 is still available for local councils to apply for.

So far, we have funded the following initiatives:

  • 16 trees to Bidford on Avon Parish Council - £2,312
  • 80 trees to Beaudesert & Henley-in-Arden JPC - £10,000
  • 4 trees to Ilmington Parish Council - £181
  • 18 trees to Southam Town Council - £2,474
  • 20 trees Welford on Avon Parish Council - £650

The application window is now open, and submissions will next be assessed on 23rd November 2026 at the beginning of the upcoming tree planting season. Applications will be assessed on a first come, first served basis, so the application window may close before this date. To apply, please fill out the application form below:
