SDC have successfully delivered our Free Trees for Farmers scheme for three consecutive years from 2024. Over this period, 29,000 trees have been distributed to farmers across Stratford District, and we are aiming to continue the scheme into the future.
For the first two years of the scheme, it was delivered in partnership with the Tree Call to Action Project, as well as the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. Since the beginning of 2025, it has been delivered solely with the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. Various tree packs were made available, which will allowed farmers to find the perfect species mix for their land. This included hedge packs, fruit tree packs, and woodland packs. Farmers were able to apply for anything from a single tree pack up to hundreds of trees.

The running of the scheme in 2026/27 is still subject to approval from The Cabinet. More information about how to apply will be made available as soon as the continuation of the scheme has been confirmed.
