A new FREE-trial scheme is to be launched in the Spring aimed at encouraging businesses, organisations, community and voluntary groups across Stratford-on-Avon District to use electric bikes instead of cars and vans for local deliveries.
Stratford-on-Avon District Council's eCargo bike scheme will see the District Council buy ten e-Cargo bikes – five EP2 e-Cargo bikes and five ALECS e-Cargo trikes, after securing £60,000 in Government funding.
The District Council will be providing match funding of £60,000 over a five-year period to cover the ongoing costs for maintenance, servicing, repairs and induction training.
The scheme allows local businesses and organisations to have the bikes on trial for free for up to three-months; meaning they don't have to make a financial commitment to purchase their own e-Cargo bikes until they have seen whether they will benefit from them or not.
The scheme has been set up in collaboration with the Energy Saving Trust and local company, Pashley Cycles who are providing the e-Cargo bikes. Local businesses, organisations and community/voluntary groups are now being encouraged to sign up to the scheme and FREE-trial.
Any business, organisation, community and voluntary group interested in taking part in the free trial scheme should email: email@example.com.
The E-Cargo Bike Grant Fund scheme is partly funded by the Department of Transport and delivered by the Energy Saving Trust.
Our fleet of 5 bikes and 5 trikes combine the ease of use of an electric bike with a significant load capacity. They will be soon available to loan to businesses, helping encourage and enable greener delivery practices.
Are you a Stratford District business considering the use of an e-cargo bike to help with your delivery service? Stratford District Council will be offering 10 of this brand-new fleet to local businesses on a loan basis for up to 3 months. If you would like to register your interest for this exciting new opportunity, get in touch through our online expression of interest form or download a PDF version and send the completed form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
