You can use this form to report your dog as missing, report a stray dog that is either still loose or that you, as a member of the public, have picked-up, or report dog fouling issues to us.
Cases of animal cruelty, neglect or abandonment should be reported to the RSPCA.
Complaints about noise (such as dog barking) or nuisances caused by the way animals are kept should be reported using the Environmental Health form.
The issue of dogs attacking other dogs is a civil, rather than a criminal matter. You should therefore contact a solicitor or the Citizens Advice Bureau if you require further information. In certain cases we, as the Local Authority, may wish to become involved. You are advised to call Environmental Health via the Contact Centre on 01789 260839 between 08.45 and 17.00, Monday to Friday to discuss such matters. For all Out of Hours calls, please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible.
Incidents with dangerous dogs, i.e. dogs attacking people or dogs of certain prescribed breeds should be reported to the Police in the first instance, as they are the main enforcing authority.
Concerned about providing us with your personal data?
The personal information that you provide will be used to investigate your complaint. We process this in the public interest and to fulfil our environmental health function. It is an official function with a clear basis in law. Failure to provide the data will result in us being unable to investigate your complaint. The information will be stored for six years. Personal data may be shared with the police, Environment Agency, housing associations, other council and public services.
