To apply for a pavement licence, please complete the details on the following pages.
The cost of the licence to allow the use of tables and chairs on the road or pavement is £100.00, which can be paid for online at the end of this form.
Applications will not be deemed valid until payment has been received in full.
Please note that submission of this form does NOT mean permission has been granted and no tables and chairs may be put on the highway without a licence being granted first.
In order to complete this form you will need the following:
- A copy of your Public Liability Certificate
- A detailed plan or sketch of your premises with measurements
- A sample/colour photograph of your furniture
- A public notice for the application on display. Use our pavement licence public notice template to print and display.
On receipt of a valid application you will receive an automated email acknowledgment. Please be advised that until an application is complete the licensing authority is unable to process your application.
The application will be subject to a public consultation period of 14 working days. This begins the day after you submitted your application and does not include public holidays. If you are notified that your application is invalid or omitting information the consultation period will start from the day after your application is deemed valid.
The Council has 28 days from the day after the application is made to consult on and determine the application. You will be notified of the determination of your application by email.
