Waterside Upmarket wins best large outdoor market award

Stratford-on-Avon District Council is delighted to announce that the Waterside Upmarket in Stratford-upon-Avon has won Best Large Outdoor Market award at the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA) One Day Conference 2026.

The popular market has over 90 high-quality stalls every Sunday and Bank Holiday (March to December) and takes place against the stunning backdrop of the River Avon and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. The market is run in partnership with LSD Promotions Ltd and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2025.

Cllr Lorraine Grocott, Portfolio Holder for Environmental and Neighbourhood Services, said: "This national recognition is a fantastic achievement for Stratford-upon-Avon.  Our market is a vibrant showcase of local enterprise and community spirit, and winning Best Large Outdoor Market is a testament to the traders, officers and partners who make it thrive!"

The Waterside Upmarket will reopen in Stratford-upon-Avon on Sunday 1st March 2026.
