Food businesses in Stratford-on-Avon District continue to demonstrate exceptional food hygiene standards, with the vast majority of local food businesses achieving top ratings under the national Food Hygiene Rating Scheme.
All food businesses in Stratford-on-Avon District are regularly visited by Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Environmental Health officers to review and rate their hygiene standards.
After each inspection the food business will receive one of the following ratings:
- 5 (very good)
- 4 (good)
- 3 (generally satisfactory)
- 2 (improvement necessary)
- 1 (major improvement necessary) 0 (urgent
Out of 1,154 premises rated across the District:
- 85.1% have achieved the highest rating of 5 - Very Good.
- 95.6% are rated either 4 or 5, reflecting strong compliance with hygiene requirements.
- An impressive 98.8% of establishments hold ratings of 3, 4, or 5, meaning they meet or exceed legal standards.
- Only 1.2% of businesses fall within the 0-2 range, where improvement or major improvement is required.
Councillor Lorraine Grocott, Environmental and Neighbourhood Services Portfolio Holder said: "These figures highlight the commitment of local food businesses to maintaining safe and hygienic practices, ensuring residents and visitors can dine with confidence.
"It's good to see such high standards across the District. These results reflect the hard work of our food businesses and the dedication of our Environmental Health team in supporting compliance and public safety."
