Work has begun on the redevelopment of One Evesham Place in Stratford-upon-Avon, marking a significant step in Stratford-on-Avon District Council's ongoing commitment to revitalising local assets and addressing housing needs within the community.
The redevelopment of One Evesham Place will transform the vacant property, formerly used as a bail hostel, into a supportive living environment, offering much-needed accommodation as part of the District Council's housing pathway.
The project is designed to serve individuals seeking long-term housing who do not require 24/7 support, providing a vital stepping stone toward independent living.
Councillor Liz Coles, Housing and Customer Services Portfolio says: "This redevelopment represents a significant step in our ongoing efforts to meet local housing need. It will provide a safe and nurturing environment, helping individuals to rebuild their lives."
Initial works include the demolition of the existing interior with comprehensive works to the building's exterior followed by a full interior fit-out.
The District Council is committed to ensuring the design of the new development is sensitive to the existing streetscape and complements the character of the surrounding area.
