An interactive indoor obstacle course - known as TAGactive - is celebrating its second birthday with a charity open day on Friday 1 March.

TAGactive is a game for all ages and takes place in a neon-lit arena at Stratford Leisure Centre, run by operator Everyone Active in partnership with Stratford-on-Avon District Council.

To celebrate its second-year anniversary, adults and children alike are invited to try out the course during an open day on Friday 1 March for just £2 a session - with all proceeds being donated to Dementia UK. Two sessions are available: 4pm-6pm and 6pm-8pm.

Since opening two years ago, nearly 20,000 people have taken part on the course, with tasks similar to Total Wipeout or Ninja Warrior.

The arena is split into zones, each of which contain a large number of illuminated TAGs and players collect points by 'tagging' these with a sensor on their wristband. The points value of each TAG is determined by the degree of difficulty in reaching it.

Obstacles include a giant ball hop, a giant rope bridge and a mirror maze - with the course designed to test strategy, speed, agility and bravery, all while promoting fun, fitness and competition.

Richard Bell, contract manager at Everyone Active, said: "TAGactive is a wonderful facility and the only one of its kind in the area. By combining activity, gaming and technology, it really is the perfect activity for friends and family of all ages to enjoy together.

"We encourage the local community to come and celebrate with us this Friday, and all for a good cause too."

Cllr Lorraine Grocott, Environmental and Neighbourhood Services Portfolio at Stratford-on-Avon District Council, said: "TAGactive has been a fantastic addition to the activities already offered at Stratford Leisure Centre. It's a fun and innovative way of keeping fit, attracting those people who maybe wouldn't typically visit a leisure centre and get them involved in sport and then seeing what other opportunities are available on their doorstep."

TAGactive sessions are bookable via the Everyone Active app and website.
