Stratford-on-Avon District Council's councillors and officers wish to express their condolences following the death of Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Kent.

The Union flag at Elizabeth House was flown at half-mast on Friday to mark Her Royal Highness' passing.

Councillor Susan Juned, Leader of Stratford-on-Avon District Council, said: "We are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent. Her legacy is one of quiet strength, compassion, and an unwavering belief in the transformative power of music. Long before it was widely known, she devoted herself to teaching music in a Hull primary school, nurturing the talents of children who might otherwise have been overlooked.

"Through her work with Future Talent, she gave countless young people the opportunity to rise above their circumstances and find their voice."
