By 6 April 2016, all dogs in England must be microchipped and registered to an approved database by the time they are 8 weeks old.

As part of this, Stratford District Council's Dog Warden, Lisa Parkes, has organised a Microchipping Drive at eight different venues across the district.

These will take place throughout the month of February:

  • 2 Feb -  STRATFORD Stratford Police Station
  • 3 Feb -  SHIPSTON Sheldon Bosley Hub
  • 8 Feb - SOUTHAM Graham Adams Centre
  • 10 Feb - WELFORD Memorial Hall
  • 16 Feb -  BIDFORD Crawford Memorial Hall
  • 17 Feb - WELLESBOURNE Methodist Church
  • 19 Feb - SHOTTERY St Andrews Centre
  • 23 Feb - ALCESTER Jubilee Centre

The FIRST 20 slots to be booked will be FREE OF CHARGE.

Subsequent slots will be charged at £5 +VAT per dog.

Sessions will run from 10.30 until 1.30pm.

(Please note there is no public parking available at Stratford Police Station).

Mini-chips are available for small dogs and puppies.

Customers will benefit from 12 months free '24/7 National Lost and Found Recovery Service' with every microchip!

There will also be information about dog-fouling, nuisance barking and dog-walking etiquette, including worrying livestock. In addition, events will be attended by our Rural Crime Coordinator who will be plugging her 'Eyes and Paws' campaign. This is designed to promote community safety and encourage dog-walkers to report any suspicious activity.
