Shop keepers across Stratford-on-Avon District have an opportunity to help improve the appearance of their shop fronts thanks to a grant scheme from Stratford-on-Avon District Council.

The scheme aims to enhance the 'kerb appeal' and general appearance of shop fronts by providing one-off grants, of up to £500, towards the cost of external painting and decorating.

The scheme is open to applications from independent shops and businesses within the District, with the exception of the Market Towns - Stratford-upon-Avon, Shipston-on-Stour, Alcester and Southam.

Cllr Maurice Howse, Enterprise, Housing and Revenues Portfolio says: “The Shop Front Grants Scheme is intended to assist businesses in 'sprucing up their shop fronts' in an effort to improve visual appearance, help with better promotion, kerb appeal and footfall."

This is also a great chance for as many qualifying businesses as possible to use this as an opportunity to get ready for Small Business Saturday which takes place on 5th December 2015.

Closing date for applications is 30 September 2015.

Full details of the grant scheme and application form can be found by visiting www.stratford.gov.uk/shopfrontgrant or by contacting the project officer, Lana Long on 01789 260609 or 01789 260803 or by email lana.long@stratford-dc.gov.uk.
