Stratford-on-Avon District Councils refuse and recycling service is changing from 6 April and District Council officers are out and about in the District promoting the changes.

The Refuse and Recycling Roadshow this weekend can be found at:

Saturday 28 March         10:00am until 2:00pm Somerfield, Alcester

Sunday 29 March            11:00am until 2:00pm Somerfield, Alcester

District Council officers will be giving out information and answering any questions residents may
have about the changes to the new service. 

The changes to new service from 6 April will be:

• The re-introduction of the green bin service
• Kitchen waste will be accepted in the green bin for composting
• Grey bins will be collected every other week

The new refuse and recycling calendar from April 2009 to March 2010 will be included with Council Tax bills sent out this month.  Another feature of the new contract is that there are no changes to collection days on Bank Holidays, with the exception of Christmas and New Year, which are all detailed in the new refuse and recycling calendar.

The new service aims to:

• Decrease the Districts waste
• Increase recycling and composting
• Provide better value for money
