On 19 August, Licensing Officers from Stratford-on-Avon District Council joined Warwickshire Police to carry out a series of inspections at licensed premises in Alcester and Studley as part of Operation GOSS. 

The joint operation involved visits to a number of licensed premises where officers engaged with premises licence holders and staff, providing crime prevention advice and guidance. Checks were also undertaken to ensure compliance with licence conditions and licensing requirements.
 
Officers reported a high standard of compliance, with no significant issues identified during the inspections. All premises visited were found to be operating in accordance with their licence conditions. 

As part of the operation, taxi inspections were also carried out at ranks in Stratford-upon-Avon town centre. These checks aimed to ensure that licensed drivers and vehicles were meeting licensing requirements and that vehicles were maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition, helping to safeguard passengers and the wider public.

Councillor Lorraine Grocott, Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Portfolio Holder for Environmental and Neighbourhood Services, said: "These inspections are essential for protecting public safety and preventing crime and disorder at our licensed premises, while also maintaining the high standards expected of licensed drivers and vehicles across the District.

The District Council and Warwickshire Police will continue to work together through joint operations to support responsible businesses, promote public safety and ensure compliance with licensing legislation throughout the District.
