Report anti-social behaviour to help authorities tackle it in Stratford-on-Avon District

Stratford News

Stratford-on-Avon District residents are being urged to report anti-social behaviour (ASB) to help local partners take action and keep communities safe.

Warwickshire Police, Stratford-on-Avon District Council and Warwickshire County Council work together to tackle ASB through the Safer Warwickshire Partnership Board, using a range of powers to address issues and reduce the harm they cause.

ASB can include criminal activity, nuisance and disorder, such as vandalism, littering, public drunkenness, nuisance bikes, noisy or abusive neighbours, and aggressive dogs. Residents are encouraged to report incidents, providing as much information as possible. Reports can be made online, by phone, in person, and anonymously if preferred.

Across the district, Warwickshire Police's Safer Neighbourhood Teams and Police Community Support Officers work alongside Stratford-upon-Avon's 'My Local Bobby' Wardens, supported by Stratford BID.

Reporting ASB

  • Warwickshire Police: Call 101, report online, or speak to an officer or PCSO. In an emergency, always call 999.
  • Stratford-on-Avon District Council: Contact the dedicated ASB team on 01789 260123, report online, or speak to a My Local Bobby Warden.
  • Nuisance bikes: Report online at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/dobemin.

Councillor Natalie Gist, Portfolio Holder for Law and Governance at Stratford-on-Avon District Council, says: "Stratford-upon-Avon town centre is covered by a Public Space Protection Order, which gives police additional powers to tackle alcohol-related anti-social behaviour, including confiscating alcohol and issuing fines where appropriate. Across the wider district, police and partners continue to use a range of powers to address ASB, and I encourage residents to report incidents so that action can be targeted where it is needed most.

"We work closely with businesses, Warwickshire Police and our CCTV team to share information and respond quickly to incidents, helping to prevent crime and anti-social behaviour from escalating.

"The District Council can also take enforcement action against persistent anti-social behaviour, while ensuring those who need support are signposted to services such as mental health, substance misuse and employment support."
