Leisure Centres in Stratford-on-Avon District offer bank holiday weekend of activities

Families in Stratford-on-Avon District are invited to a weekend of activities at local leisure centres on Saturday, 23 May and Sunday, 24 May.

A free community open weekend at Southam Leisure Centre will kick start the bumper weekend of fun.

The leisure centre, which is run by Everyone Active in partnership with Stratford-on-Avon District Council, will throw open its doors for the weekend event, offering a range of free fitness activities for all ages and abilities to encourage the local community to get active.

The open day will celebrate and showcase a £28,000 investment in 23 brand-new state-of-the-art Keiser spin bikes in the leisure centre's group exercise studio, which attendees can try out on the day.

Free activities on the Saturday will run from 9am until 3.45pm and include two instructor-led group cycle classes, Pilates, junior gym, circuits, family swim and an inflatable pool session. 

Visitors can enjoy further free fitness fun on the Sunday, with activities running throughout the day from 11am until 5pm. Disabled swim sessions, Pilates, swim lesson tasters, breathwork classes and a swim disco will all be on offer.

Other Everyone Active leisure centres in the area offering open days across the weekend with selected free activities include:

  • Shipston Leisure Centre: 
    Saturday, 23 May: Everyone Active swimming lesson tasters, personal training tasters and family swim and inflatable sessions. 
    Sunday, 24 May: Family swim session and a public swimming session.

  • Stratford Leisure Centre: 
    Saturday, 23 May: Personal training and Hyrox tasters, E-gym sessions, junior inductions.
    Sunday, 24 May: Everyone Active swimming lesson taster sessions and Active Antz for under-fives.

  • Studley Leisure Centre: 
    Sunday, 24 May: Lane swimming from 7-9am, swimming lesson taster sessions from 9-11am, swim disco at 1pm and an inflatable swim session at 2.15-3.15pm. 
    Sports hall activities on the day include: Active Antz for under-fives at 10am-1pm and badminton and pickleball from 10am-5pm.

  • The Greig Leisure Centre: 
    Sunday, 24 May: Free personal training tasters from 9am-12noon, free boot camp and free outdoor court use from 12noon-5pm. Sports hall activities include badminton, table tennis and Active Antz for under-fives.
