- New Government Guidance - Advice for people visiting Stratford-upon-Avon
The government has set out its plan to return life to as near normal as we can, for as many people as we can, as quickly and fairly as possible in order to safeguard livelihoods, but in a way that is safe and continues to protect our NHS.
For the latest Government Guidance please visit: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-outbreak-faqs-what-you-can-and-cant-do/coronavirus-outbreak-faqs-what-you-can-and-cant-do
For those wishing to visit Stratford-upon-Avon, the public open spaces at the Recreation Ground and Bancroft Gardens remain open and people are advised to practise social distancing from other people outside your household.
The District Council car parks are open and charges will apply.
The Recreation Ground play area and outdoor gym equipment remain closed as per current Government guidance.
We are exploring the possibility of opening the public toilets safely at the Recreation Ground, in line with Government guidance and with social distancing measures in place by the weekend. All other public toilets in the town centre and across the district remain closed.
Please remember the majority of non-essential retail and amenities in the town centre remain closed at this time.
Cllr Tony Jefferson, Leader of Stratford-on-Avon District Council says: "The return to whatever 'normality' post Covid-19 looks like will not be swift. We are taking things in small steps as we have no clarity on how people are going to react. There are, obviously, some very careful balances that need to be struck and we will be learning constantly and revising our approach as appropriate."
