The Use of Social Media in Investigations Procedure should be read in conjunction with the Council's RIPA Corporate Policy and Procedures document as well as the Home Office's Code of Practices on Covert Surveillance and Covert Human Intelligence Sources and the Investigatory Powers Commissioner's Office Guidance 'RIPA' refers to The Regulatory Powers Act 2000.
The Procedure applies to any investigatory work undertaken by officers.
