Stratford-upon-Avon Unveils New Look Christmas Markets for 2024

Christmas Market Logo 2024

Stratford-on-Avon District Council, in partnership with LSD Promotions and Stratford-upon-Avon Town Council, is thrilled to announce a fresh look for its renowned Christmas Market in 2024.

Responding to feedback from local residents and businesses, the markets will feature an all-new layout designed to enhance visitor experience while helping to minimise disruption to the town. The revamped, smaller markets footprint will allow for Wood Street, Union Street, High Street and the Bridge Street roundabout to remain open, with traffic calming measures in place, aiming to maintain a better flow of traffic and reduce congestion compared to previous years, allowing both residents and businesses to navigate the town.

Boasting 200 high-quality stalls, the markets remain some of the largest in the West Midlands, promising a truly special shopping experience. Taking place over two consecutive weekends, on 7th & 8th and 14th & 15th December, the extended duration allows visitors to experience the markets on what are traditionally the most popular days, and the midweek traffic congestion in the town will be significantly reduced.

Entertainment will be integrated throughout the markets footprint, offering visitors the chance to experience a variety of performers as they explore. Unlike previous years, the markets will forego a centralised Main Stage and Funfair, allowing entertainment to roam freely and create an immersive experience for all visitors. Stratford-upon-Avon's Christmas Markets have evolved to meet the changing needs of the local community and visitors, promising to be the one of the highlights of the Christmas season. Against the backdrop of the town's historic streets adorned with twinkling Christmas lights, the markets invite all to experience the magic and joy of the festive season.

Being Part of the Event

If you are a business situated within the market area and would like to take part, it is possible you can trade outside of your premises to make the most of what will be the high footfall generated by the Christmas Markets. To do this you need to register with the market operator and you must only promote or sell your normal stock or service. You must be confident that you comply with the Town's regulatory standards, trade within its agreed licenses, and have all the necessary insurance, safety documentation and equipment, as these stalls will not fall under the umbrella of permissions and insurances in place for the main event.

The Stratford-upon-Avon Christmas Markets will benefit the whole of Stratford-upon-Avon in a variety of ways, in particular by bringing in additional visitors and a much needed boost to the local economy. However, we are aware that not everyone enjoys or gets a direct benefit from the event, and we could not run this event without the support and understanding of local residents, who we know can be inconvenienced at this time. Dedicated stewards will be working throughout the site.

Please note that none of the public car parks within the town centre will be affected. Please be aware that you may be required to prove eligibility to take advantage of any alternative arrangements that may be available.

If you are a market trader and would like more information on how you can be part of this event as a local business, please contact LSD Promotions (Market Place) Ltd on 01384 877336 or email
