This will be the second of what is now an annual (and award-winning) event taking place in the town centre. The Victorian Christmas Market is a themed event with stall holders wearing Victorian outfits. There will be entertainment throughout the town; a stage in Henley Street will host a programme of performances. There will be a traditional funfair, which will include a carousel situated at the bottom of Wood Street Street and on the Rother Street market area.
The Christmas market will be on Waterside, Sheep Street, Bridge Street, Henley Street, High Street and Meer Street, with stalls that are street food and drink-related positioned on Wood Street.

The following roads will be closed from 18:00 on Thursday 6 December until 00.01 on Monday 10 December 2018:
Rother Street will not be closed and the access from Greenhill Street and Windsor Street into Rother Street will be maintained during this period.
We politely request that companies who have deliveries within these areas work with their suppliers to make deliveries prior to the road closures coming into force – no vehicles will be allowed into these areas once the road closures are in place. Security during this event will be very tight. If you require further information in relation to deliveries outside of the event operating period, then a dedicated mobile number will be available on this page nearer to the event.

If you are a business situated within the market area and would like to take part, it is possible you can trade outside of your premises to make the most of what will be the high footfall generated by the Victorian Christmas Market. To do this you need to register with the market contractor and you must only promote or sell your normal stock or service. Those manning the stall must be dressed in Victorian dress; this is mandatory for all traders during the event. You must be confident that you comply with the Town's regulatory standards, trade within its agreed licenses, and have all the necessary insurance, safety documentation and equipment, as these stalls will not fall under the umbrella of permissions and insurances in place for the main event.
The Stratford-upon-Avon Victorian Christmas Market will benefit the whole of Stratford-upon-Avon in a variety of ways, in particular by bringing in additional visitors and a much needed boost to the economy. However, we are aware that not everyone enjoys or gets a direct benefit from the event, and we could not run this event without the support and understanding of local residents, who we know can be inconvenienced at this time. Dedicated stewards will be working throughout the site.
Please note that none of the public car parks within the town centre will be affected. Please be aware that you may be required to prove eligibility to take advantage of any alternative arrangements that may be available.
