Amendment to Harbury's Area Designation September 2020

The amendment to Harbury's Area Designation was formally approved on 12 September 2020.

Harbury and Deppers Bridge Neighbourhood Plan has now been 'made'

Stratford-on-Avon District Council resolved that the Harbury and Deppers Bridge Neigbourhood Development Plan was 'made' on 17 December 2018. It is now formally part of the District Council's development plan and will be used to assist in making decisions on planning applications within the plan area.

'Yes' vote at referendum

On Thursday 29 November 2018, voters in Harbury and Deppers Bridge voted 'yes' to the Neighbourhood Development Plan.

  • 94.05% (822 people) of those voting said 'Yes'
  • 5.94% (52 people) voted 'No'
  • The turnout was 41.65%

Plan to proceed to referendum

The Harbury and Deppers Bridge Neighbourhood Plan was independently examined between May and June 2018. Following the Examiner's report of 30 July 2018, The Cabinet voted on 8th October 2018 that the Plan, as amended by the modifications set out in the decision statement below, should proceed to Referendum.

Examiner's questions of clarification

The examiner asked for the Parish Council and Stratford-on-Avon District Council to respond to a number of questions in order to provide clarity and additional information to assist the examination.

Invitation for Parish Council comments on the representations

Recent planning guidance from the Neighbourhood Planning Independent Examiner Referral Service advises that the qualifying body (in this case Harbury Parish Council) be given an opportunity to comment on representations made during the consultation (see "Index of Representations" document above). As examination on the Harbury and Deppers Bridge Neighbourhood Development Plan commenced soon after the publication of this guidance, the examiner gave the Parish Council until the end of Friday 27 April to submit any comments on the responses.

Formal Submission consultation

In accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended), we held a consultation on the policies proposed in the Submission version of the Plan. Consultation on the Submission Draft of the Harbury Neighbourhood Plan ran from 11 January to 5.00 pm on 22 February 2018.

Pre-Submission Draft consultation

The Pre-Submission Draft of the Harbury and Deppers Bridge Neighbourhood Plan was published for a six week period of consultation between 6 February 2017 and 20 March 2017 in accordance with Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).

Neighbourhood Area designation

The Neighbourhood Plan Area was designated by the cabinet on 8 September 2014. Harbury Parish Council was the relevant body that applied to the District Council for designation. The area application documents can be found below:
