As Housing and Communities Manager you will have a pivotal role in the shaping of the District's housing services and fostering strong connections with the community to enhance the wellbeing of residents.
You will have great relationship building skills to build partnerships with external organisations and housing providers at both a strategic and operational level. You'll be able to use your experience, dedication and enthusiasm to lead and motivate high performing teams and ensure the effective management of the council's housing services and community development initiatives. You will lead and manage the Local Plans team, consisting of nine officers, overseeing the delivery of the Council's planning policy function including leading on the preparation of planning policy documents, and working in partnership with key stakeholders in understanding and addressing the planning policy challenges facing the District.

Not only are we working jointly with Warwick District Council to produce a new South Warwickshire Local Plan, we also work closely with local communities to produce Neighbourhood Development Plans along with a range of other plan-making activities through the development of Development and Supplementary Plans.

You will have responsibility for a caseload focussed on householder applications and other types of minor applications including, prior notifications, lawful development certificates, and advertisements.
