Current Policy

As the Licensing Authority we are responsible for the implementation and administration of certain parts of the Gambling Act 2005. Part of this responsibility is to adopt a 'Policy and Statement of Principles' which must be reviewed every three years.

The Gambling Policy for Stratford on Avon District was reviewed in October 2021 and after a period of consultation Stratford District Council approved the current policy. This policy came into effect on the 31st January 2022 and will run until January 2025.

Review of Policy

Under the requirement to review our policy every three years a review is now being conducted.

The Councils Statement of Gambling Policy is intended to provide information and guidance to applicants, objectors and interested parties on the general approach that the Council will take in terms of licensing during the next three years. The current Gambling Policy Statement was published on 31st January 2022. In this review it was considered no major changes were necessary to support the licensing objectives. This review is now out for consultation for the next 8 weeks.
