Parish Council Training at SDC

Parish Council Training on the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)

Stratford-on-Avon District Council has undertaken a number of training sessions on the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) for parish councillors in the Stratford area. To assist those parish councillors who were not present at the training on 20 February 2018, the session was recorded and is available to view on our YouTube Channel.

The session covers:

  • What proportion of fees parishes are likely to receive and the difference if they have an Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP).
  • What the money can be spent on (wider definition than for District Council - Regulation 59C).
  • What parishes need to do (e.g. they need to identify priorities in their NDP if they are preparing one).
  • When CIL is paid.
  • How CIL differs from S106 Agreements, and which are appropriate in what circumstances.

You can also view the presentation slides.
