'Spotlight on Communities' focus of Annual Conference

Stratford-on-Avon District residents are being given the opportunity to meet the leaders from Warwickshire County Council, Stratford District Council, Warwickshire Police, health and the voluntary sector at the Stratford-on-Avon District's Annual Conference.

The event takes place on Wednesday 2 December from 6pm to 9pm in Wellesbourne at The University of Warwick, Wellesbourne Campus and will be hosted by Steve Orchard, Chief Executive from local radio station, Touch FM.

The conference has been organised jointly by Warwickshire County Council and Stratford-on-Avon District Council with a 'spotlight on our communities'

Guest speakers include Cllr Izzi Seccombe, Leader of Warwickshire County Council, Cllr Chris Saint, Leader Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Ron Ball, Police and Crime Commissioner for Warwickshire, David Squires, Vice Chair of Voluntary Action Stratford-on-Avon District and David Spraggett, Chair of South Warwickshire Clinical Commissioning Group.

Cllr Izzi Seccombe, Leader of Warwickshire County Council says: “I am delighted to be taking part in this event where residents will be able to learn about and discuss future priorities for Stratford District and the benefits to local communities."

Cllr Chris Saint, Leader of Stratford-on-Avon District Council says: “This is a great opportunity for Stratford District residents to hear first-hand about future priorities for their community and for them to help shape future services based on their needs and what's important to them."
 
Residents will have the opportunity to hear:

 

  • 'What's on the horizon' from the leaders in the public and community sector
  • Hear about the positive work that all partners are doing with communities linked to the priorities within Stratford-on-Avon District's Social Inclusion Statement**
  • Celebrate in the achievements of local communities
  • Be involved in the development of future priorities for the community and 
  • Discuss issues that are emerging in the district.

Registration and refreshments will be available from 6pm with a market place, and presentations from 7pm to 9pm.  

Part of the conference will be centred on the development of future priorities for communities where all delegates will be invited to raise community issues around a number of themes. The issues highlighted in these sessions will be used to shape the future work of the Social Inclusion Partnership and the emerging Social Inclusion Statement.
