AUDIT OF ACCOUNTS 2019/20

NOTICE GIVEN UNDER REGULATION 14 AND 15 OF THE ACCOUNTS AND AUDIT REGULATIONS

Accounts available for inspection

Please note that the public inspection period has been amended in accordance with Regulation 2 (4) of the Accounts and Audit (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020. The deadline for local authorities must commence the period for the exercise of public rights – which normally must include the first 10 working days of June has been amended and must commence on or before 1 September 2020. Regulations 2 (2) of these amendments extend the final deadline for the Council to publish the complete audited 2019/20 Statement of Accounts from 31 July 2020 to 30 November 2020.

Any local government elector, or his/her representative, may inspect the Council's accounts for the year ended 31 March 2020 at the Council Offices (address below) from Thursday, 27 August 2020 to Friday, 9 October 2020 inclusive, between 10am and 2pm. Copies of the Accounts, together with any relevant documents may be made, subject to latest Government social distancing policy and the premises being open to the public, due to the Covid-19 restrictions please ring to arrange access on 01789 260100.

It is noted that the Statement of Accounts is unaudited and that the Statement of Accounts as published may be subject to change.

Questions or Objections

Due to Covid-19 restrictions the Appointed Auditor will not be available at the Council Offices (address below) this year. Any local government elector, or his/her representative, still has the opportunity to question, or object to her about the accounts for the year ended 31 March 2020. Objections can be made to the Appointed Auditor, Maria Grindley, via email in the first instance to mgrindley@uk.ey.com or in writing, together with the reasons, at the following address:
