Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Bancroft Gardens has been awarded a prestigious Green Flag Award, a mark of excellence that celebrates the very best green spaces across the UK and beyond.
The site is one of 2,250 in the UK to achieve the award, which is the international quality mark for parks and green spaces.
The award recognises the high standard of the facility and rewards the hard work of managers, staff and volunteers involved in the maintenance of the site.
The Green Flag Award scheme, administered by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of recreational outdoor spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
Bancroft Gardens was assessed against criteria including safety, cleanliness, environmental management, biodiversity, and overall site management. The District Council's grounds maintenance contractor, Krinkels UK Ltd, commitment to the site was instrumental in securing the recognition.
Councillor Lorraine Grocott, Portfolio Holder for Environmental and Neighbourhood Services, said: "We are absolutely delighted that Bancroft Gardens has received the Green Flag Award. This achievement reflects the tireless efforts of our staff and contractors who work year-round to ensure our green spaces are safe, clean, and enjoyable for residents and visitors alike - for everyone.
"Our parks and green spaces are vital for our physical and mental well-being, offering perfect spots to connect with nature, exercise, and spend quality time with family and friends. It's a wonderful recognition of the pride we take in our local environment."
